With more new releases from the frontline of the dancefloor trenches we also welcome three new labels in the guise of Detroit’s Detox and the triumphant techno sounds of UK techno don Ben Sims via his Hardgroove and Theory labels.

We kick things off with a host of new DJ International re-issues including Frankie Knuckles ‘Baby Wants To Ride’, Bam Bam’s ‘You’ve Been Messing Around’, Chip E. ‘Jack Trax’, Bad Boy Bill’s ‘Jack It All Night Long’ and Loleatta Holloway’s ‘So Sweat’ amongst a host of other classic house tracks, Chris 214 mixes up maverick electronics on Touchin Bass with his new ‘Cascadian Nights’ release and Shelby Grey takes the house sound of Factor City into the realms of disco.

ZeECc continue their dub techno lexicon with Upwellings ‘Snow Motion’, Permanent Damages’s 1undread takes us from IDM to drum n bass, ReepR ‘makes sum electro-house noize’ on RuNT and BIP hit back with new releases from Agnes, D-Bag, Fedo Mora & Camurri, Robert Abigail and the brash euro pop of the one and only Spagna!

Detroit has a rich history of music. From Motown to the origins of Techno, the city of Detroit has been a key player in influencing music throughout the world.  It's vast array of artists & musicians make it a breeding ground for innovative sounds and breakthrough compositions.  It is with the idea of nurturing Detroit's rich talent pool that Detox Recordings was formed.  This upstart label founded by local DJ and event promoter DJ Tom T and transplanted Miami native DJ/Producer A.D. Cruze desires to develop local musicians, singers & artists and expose Detroit's diverse and talented community to dance music fans everywhere.  Embracing dance music styles ranging from house, to techno, to trance, Detox Recordings aims to be an open genre label with the ability to appeal to nearly any audience.  Detox Recordings' releases will be primarily artist driven, giving a face and a voice to a genre of music that lacks artist identity in the eyes of the general public.  While Dance music has always been DJ driven, it is just as important to establish artists in order to gain recognition from music fans worldwide.  It is with this aim that Detox Recordings launches its music for the whole world to enjoy. www.detoxrecordings.com

Hardgroove specialises in the cut-up tribal sounds of Ben Sims whilst Theory Recordings was originally founded by Ben Sims and Tony Dax, subsequently run by Ben Sims alone and incorporates a wide range of remix artists. Ben Sims is one of the UK’s biggest techno exports and has been involved in running 9 labels, a couple of which are on hold at present (Theory, Killabite, Hardgroove, Native, Ingoma, Symbolism, Assembly, KB Records and Split Music), each one with a distinctive sound, ranging from hardgroovin’ and funk driven techno and house that is the trademark of his DJ sets, via tribal, to melodic electronica. In a genre that propagates sound-a-likes, Ben Sims productions have gained widespread attention and feature regularly in the boxes of his own personal heroes like Derrick May, Kevin Saunderson, Jeff Mills and Rolando, whilst also attracting crossover appeal from the likes of Carl Cox etc. He has remixed Jeff Mills, Green Velvet, Blake Baxter, DJ Funk, Marco Bailey, Chris Liebing, Adam Beyer plus many more and has had his tracks and remixes featured on mix cds by Robert Hood, Francois Kevorkian, DJ Rush, Joey Beltram, Dave Clarke, Umek, Luke Slater, Sven Vath, Richie Hawtin and hundreds more. The past 10 years have seen Ben constantly touring and tearing up dancefloors at legendary clubs & parties like- Liquid room, Tokyo, Sonar, Barcelona, Limelight. NYC, Rex, Paris, Zouk, Singapore, I love Techno, Gent, Tresor, Berlin, Awakenings, Amsterdam and Atomic jam, Birmingham plus hundreds of others with his tight, energetic and skilful brand of 3 deck wizardry. Add this to the 6 deck ROKU sets with Mark Broom, recent ventures into promoting with both the Retro_vert and Split parties causing a storm in London, a monthly internet radio show presented with Alex Downey and a new mix cd lined up for the Slovenian based Matrix series, plus the FREQUENCY 7 dex, fx and laptop shows with Birmingham’s Surgeon, pushing the boundaries of DJ sets or as part of the ESSEX RASCALS with Tony Anderson, Mark Broom and Paul Mac dropping everything from House to Funk to Disco and you can see that Ben Sims is still very much on top of his game. www.myspace.com/theoryrecordings
